I’ll always cherish the memories of being in an office with Felipe, hearing him repeatedly sing the opening to this one into a microphone to test the code.
There are many works that purport to express a story or message, but Huitaca Ensemble does it in a way with astonishing profundity that truly blew me away, firstly through Felipe’s composition and then when hearing it performed for real by the amazing Emily Venturella. It was a privilege to be part of this hauntingly beautiful story of memories of loved ones that have passed on.
