Very excited to announce that I’ll be doing the live sound design for Huitaca Ensemble‘s debut album! Huitaca Ensemble composer and co-founder, Felipe Hoyos-González, was recently awarded a Graduate Music Award by the Presser Foundation to produce this album.

Huitaca Ensemble, co-founded by composer Felipe Hoyos-González and soprano Emily Venturella, have a unique chemistry that make their music making seem more like one living being than two separate entities. Their designations of composer and soprano don’t do justice the interaction and synergy that they share in music making and performance – no role is completely independent of the other from the score paper to the performance and their music simultaneously reflects the musical hearts of both Felipe and Emily. I had the privilege to work with them a few years ago on their Toccata Moderada Do Timbre de la Porta Principale (2023) and I’m beyond thrilled to again collaborate with these phenomenal musicians!
